Distinguished and Famous people from Craigieburn
🏅 Dion Prestia
Footballer Dion Prestia grew up in Craigieburn, with junior football taking him through West Lalor and Greenvale before his AFL career. He played for Gold Coast and later Richmond, where his midfield work became part of the club’s premiership success. In 2019 he combined a premiership with Richmond’s best-and-fairest award, achievements acknowledged by Hume City Council. His recollections of childhood and family support place Craigieburn in the early story of a player subsequently associated with two very different football states.
